Riot is working on a League of Legends MMO

Riot Games has been branching out into different genres recently and has placed a focus on expanding the League of Legends IP with new games and spin-offs. While not officially announced, it would seem that one of these spin-offs will indeed be a League of Legends MMORPG.

Greg Street, Riot's Vice President of IP and Entertainment, confirmed that an MMO was in the works on Twitter, seemingly not anticipating it to be big news:

Riot Games is not ready to talk about the project in detail. After the tweet, the company's official PR said that it has nothing further to say on the matter at this time.

Seemingly, the project is just getting started and as we know, MMOs are a huge undertaking, so it could be years before we see it in action.
