New Intel Core i5-12600K benchmarks put it ahead of the AMD Ryzen 5 5600X

Intel is expected to launch its 12th Gen Core desktop processors in just a few days time, but early benchmarks are already giving us some a good idea of what to expect. Over the weekend, new Core i5-12600K benchmarks surfaced, showing favourable performance up against the Ryzen 5 5600X. 

New benchmark results have been shared by both @TUM_APISAK and @9550pro. The former has the CPU running with what seems to be a slight overclock on a Windows 10 system, while the latter shows the CPU running at stock speeds on Windows 11.

At stock, the 10-core i5-12600K scored 746.2 points in the CPU-Z single-core benchmark and 7,058.1 in the multi-core test. As for the supposedly overclocked system, it scored 79x.x points and 72xx.x points in the single-core and multi-core benchmarks, respectively. That's a 5-7% improvement in the single-core test and a 2-3% in the multi-core test.

As we came to expect after seeing the scores of the other 12th Gen Core processors, the i5-12600K fares very well in both single-core and multi-core tests. In these single-core tests, the 12600K beats the Core i9-11900K by around 8 percent, and it beats the Ryzen 5 5600X inthe CPU-Z multi-core test by as much as 47 percent.

KitGuru says: It looks like Intel's 12th Gen CPUs are going to set some new performance standards, but we'll need to wait for retail samples and full reviews to know for sure.
