Genesis Krypton 555 Gaming Mouse Review

Rating: 8.0.

Today we are taking a look at the Krypton 555 gaming mouse from Genesis. Coming in with a $29.99 or €25.99 MSRP, this is an incredibly cheap mouse that offers a lot of features for the price, including pararcord-style cable, a lightweight design and PTFE glide pads… but how does it perform?

The Genesis Krypton 55 has an MSRP of $29.99 or €25.99. UK availability is currently unknown. We found it on sale directly from Genesis for 99.90 PLN (about £17.50) HERE, and €22.59 from senukai.lt HERE.

Pros

  • Decent sensor for the price.
  • Paracord-style braided cable is great quality.
  • Extra PTFE gliders included.
  • Software is well designed and easy to use.
  • Honeycomb design helps keep the weight down.
  • Very competitively priced.

Cons

  • Weight is listed as 70g but weighs 75g on my scales with cable removed.
  • RGB “prism” effect doesn’t look that good.
  • Honeycomb design hides the Genesis logo and looks messy.
  • The scroll wheel offers little resistance.
  • DPI and RGB buttons are a bit cheap feeling.

KitGuru says: For $30 this mouse is quite impressive, the features and overall quality are solid, while the negative points are easy to look past considering the price point.
