Pre-alpha gameplay footage for Skate 4 leaks online

It has been almost 18 months since EA officially announced Full Circle, a brand new studio looking to bring back the Skate franchise. Skate 4 has been in development for at least two years already, and now, the first gameplay footage has appeared online.

EA is running alpha playtests for Skate 4 at the moment. These playtests are held under strict NDAs and there are security measures in place to deter leaks, but it appears that one tester shared new gameplay anyway. The 30-second gameplay clip was originally uploaded to Odysee, but EA has been issuing takedowns across the web in an effort to stop the leak from spreading. Currently, this mirror from Jeff Grubb still works:

The first thing you'll notice is that this is clearly pre-alpha footage and absolutely is not intended for public viewing. Basic open-world geometry is in place, but everything is very plain and low-poly, as this build seems to be in place purely for early testing purposes as developers tinker around with mechanics and lock in on gameplay features.

There are various watermarks that appear across the screen at various points, which have mostly been covered up by a photo. Still, EA will no doubt be tracking down the source of this leak.

Given how early development seems to be based on this footage, we wouldn't expect Skate 4 to release until sometime next year, if not even later.

KitGuru Says: The leak is interesting purely to get a look at some physics and animations, but this footage is by no means representative of what the game will be when it releases.
