Asus and Noctua team up again for RTX 4080 Noctua Edition graphics card

Asus and Noctua teamed up a couple of years ago, launching Noctua-cooled versions of the RTX 3070 and RTX 3080 graphics cards. Now, both companies are teaming up once again, this time for the Asus RTX 4080 Noctua Edition.

The Asus RTX 4080 Noctua Edition was first announced at CES 2023, confirming that the new GPU will use two NF-A12x25 120mm fans, a larger heatsink and a bigger 4.3 slot design. The heatsink is thicker as it now incorporates a vapour chamber with eight heat pipes running through it to improve cooling performance.

Compared to the standard version of the RTX 4080, the Noctua version improves noise levels significantly, dropping from 48.6 dB(A) to 34.7dB(A) at maximum speeds. The new cooler reduces noise while maintaining similar temperatures, running a fraction of a degree hotter while greatly improving noise output. Back at CES when this new graphics card was first unveiled, Asus claimed that the GPU peaked at just  61.7ºC with the TDP set at 320W.

We don't have exact pricing yet, but you should see these cards popping up at retail imminently.

KitGuru says: The Noctua edition coolers have impressed so far and the RTX 4080 version is shaping up to be the quietest on the market.
