Gigabyte claims AMD will release “next generation” Ryzen desktop CPUs this year

While AMD hasn't announced its next-gen Ryzen processor plans yet, it would seem that partners are already in the know. In a recent press release, Gigabyte reportedly confirmed that the “next generation” of Ryzen desktop processors will launch later this year. 

As noted by Andreas Schilling in the press release of the AM5-based E133-C10 and R133-C10 servers, Gigabyte reminds users that the platform will be supported up to 2025. Then, it added that the “next-generation of AMD Ryzen desktop processors” coming later this year would also run on this same platform.

Well, it should be obvious that a next Ryzen generation will be introduced this year. Gigabyte in a PR release:

"The next generation of AMD Ryzen desktop processors that will come out later this year will also be supported on this AM5 platform, (…)“

AMD's Ryzen 7000 series desktop processors and AM5 motherboards first launched in late 2022. It is unclear if the ‘next generation' CPUs will refresh current technologies with additional refinements, similar to Zen+ years ago, or if it will be a true next-generation moving from Zen 4 to Zen 5.

It is also worth noting that there could have been a misinterpretation somewhere along the way, as AMD does have more Ryzen 7000 CPUs on the way, including Ryzen 7000G processors and more X3D series chips.
