xCloud finally lets you stream games you own

All the way back in 2022, Microsoft announced that they would soon let Xbox owners stream their own personal library of games through the company’s xCloud service – meaning even titles which are not available on Game Pass. Two and a half years later and the feature is finally here…in beta.

Making the announcement on the Xbox Wire blog, Ashley McKissick – the Corporate Vice President for Xbox Experiences and Platforms Engineering – said:

“Today, millions of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members are enjoying Xbox Cloud Gaming to play top titles from the Xbox Game Pass catalog on various devices. We’ve also heard your excitement about having more flexibility to stream games you own beyond the Game Pass catalog.”

They continued, “Starting today, I’m excited to announce that we’re allowing Game Pass Ultimate members to stream select games they own through TVs and browser on supported devices like smartphones, PCs, and tablets, in all 28 countries where Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) is available.”

According to the console maker, the ability to cloud stream your own games will also come to Xbox consoles and the Xbox PC app – though not until next year.

At launch, this new program supports 50 titles in total (the full list of which can be found HERE), but with the service launching in beta – and the fact that regular xCloud is STILL in beta – it will likely take a while for it to mature.
