Screenshots give early look at Respawn’s Star Wars tactics game

Respawn Entertainment has been quietly working on a Star Wars strategy game for a few years now in collaboration with Bit Reactor, a studio founded by former XCOM developers. Now, a number of screenshots have leaked online, giving us an early look at the game.

The untitled Star Wars strategy game will be properly revealed at Star Wars Celebration, taking place in just a few weeks' time. In the meantime though, MP1st has published several new screenshots of the game:

The screenshots give a few details about the game thanks to the inclusion of AI. Like in XCOM, players will control small squads and carefully move from cover to cover across the map to gain an advantage on enemies. Interestingly, the art style is similar to The Clone Wars animated series and other modern animated Star Wars series like Rebels.

The game will be properly announced on April 19th, as a panel covering the game is due to take place at Star Wars Celebration.

KitGuru Says: As a fan of XCOM, I have high hopes for this. We'll get to know more about the game in just a few weeks' time but there will no doubt be other leaks between now and then.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
