Control Resonant gets reality-bending trailer and September 24th release date

During Gamescom Opening Night Live, Remedy debuted the final trailer for Control Resonant, confirming a September 24th release date for the sequel.

Control Resonant shifts the series from a shooter into a full action RPG, placing players in control of Dylan Faden, the brother of Jesse Faden from the original game. After years of confinement under the Federal Bureau of Control, Dylan emerges into a warped version of Manhattan at the height of a paranatural crisis. Rather than exploring the Oldest House, players will traverse expansive outdoor zones where reality constantly bends, reshapes and collapses around them.

Dylan wields a wide range of supernatural abilities, including elemental powers, teleportation and environmental manipulation. His melee weapon, the Aberrant, can shift forms on demand, transforming between heavy two‑handed hammers and swift dual blades to meet different combat scenarios. Resonant features a deep progression system, allowing players to shape how Dylan’s powers evolve as he adapts to increasingly dangerous threats.

The sequel introduces new factions and returning enemies, including the Hiss and the Mold, all of which have spread beyond the Oldest House and into Manhattan. Dylan’s journey also reconnects him with Jesse Faden, now serving as FBC Director, as the pair attempt to understand and contain the catastrophe unfolding across the city.

Control Resonant will be available for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on September 24th.

KitGuru Says: Control Resonant looks to be a pretty major shift in style compared to the first game. I loved the first game, so I'm a bit apprehensive about the changes, but hopefully it still carries the same spark as the original.
