EA Motive wants to continue Dead Space

EA Motive has successfully brought Dead Space back to the forefront with a fantastic remake of the original 2008 game. Now, EA Motive is looking to the future, with hopes of being allowed to continue working on the series.

In an interview with GQ this week, Phil Ducharme, Senior Producer on the Dead Space remake, explained that the EA Motive team has ideas for where to take the franchise next, and it will soon be having meetings with EA to pitch.

“There are ideas, that's for sure. We're finishing this week, we're going to be making sure that that launch goes well and that there are as few technical issues as possible. We're gonna be heading out on vacation and then we'll sit down and we'll have those discussions within EA to say, ‘Well, what's next?'”

The Dead Space Remake does include a secret ending, which could hint at the direction a new set of Dead Space sequels could go in. However, EA may also want to shift focus to other projects, like Motive's upcoming Iron Man game, so we'll have to wait and see.

KitGuru Says: I'm hopeful that EA will greenlight more Dead Space, but as history has shown us, EA executives don't seem to like investing big money into single-player experiences. That has started to improve in recent years, so we'll have to wait and see. If sales remain strong, then a new Dead Space sequel could be on the table.
