PlayStation 5 Technical Presentation officially announced

In march of 2020, Sony officially announced and revealed the PlayStation 5’s specifications in-depth with a ‘Road to PS5’ stream hosted by the system’s lead architect Mark Cerny. With rumours of a PS5 Pro presentation set for this week, the console manufacturer has now announced another similarly-styled ‘Technical Presentation’ – hosted once again by Mark Cerny.

“The whole slate” of Final Fantasy games reportedly coming to Xbox

Right at the start of 2024, Square Enix officially announced that the much-loved MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV would finally be coming to Xbox consoles. Following this, the publisher confirmed its intentions to bring more games to Microsoft’s platform. According to one insider “the whole slate” of Final Fantasy titles will eventually find their way onto Xbox consoles.

PlayStation removes Concord from all stores, refunding customers

By now, it’s safe to say that PlayStation Studios’ live-service multiplayer hero shooter Concord is one of the biggest first-party failures in the platform’s history. Following abysmally low concurrent player counts and an estimated total sales of just 25,000 copies, Sony has been quick to respond – announcing the immediate ceasing of all sales alongside full refunds to everyone.

Windows 11 has not been free from controversy since it was first released back in 2021. From issues surrounding compatibility to aesthetic changes, many have opted not to update to Windows’ ‘latest and greatest’ OS. KitGuru Games: Black Myth: Wukong – China’s God of War

Black Myth: Wukong has been out for just under a week, garnering over 10 million sales and millions of concurrent players across PC and PS5. While many have been referring to this game as a 'souls-like' title, it is actually very different from the likes of Dark Souls and Elden Ring, taking much inspiration from games like God of War. This is apparent in both combat, but more importantly, it is apparent in storytelling, taking on a more cinematic approach, compared to the more passive story-telling style of the Souls games.

Valve clamps down on high-end keyboard features being used in Counter-Strike 2

Yesterday, I was playing a round of Counter-Strike 2 and something odd happened - someone on the enemy team actually got kicked from the game due to VAC, a very rare sight in my hundreds of hours of playtime this year. GTA San Andreas VR has been put “on hold indefinitely”

Back in 2021 during what was previously known as the Facebook Connect conference, the company now known as Meta announced that they would be bringing the classic Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas to VR via the Quest 2. Following years of little to no news, Meta has unfortunately announced that the game has now been put “on hold indefinitely.”

Activision is FINALLY solving Call of Duty’s file size

As we reached the final years of the 8th generation of video game consoles, the file sizes for titles began to balloon somewhat out of control. Switch 2 reportedly not arriving until the next fiscal year

After many years of rumours, speculation and anticipation, Nintendo finally confirmed back in May that they would be officially announcing the Switch’s successor at some point during the current fiscal year (ending 31st March 2025). While this may still be the case, it seems the system itself won’t be available to purchase until the following fiscal year.
