Computex: Sapphire’s Vapor-X CPU cooler is finally done

It’s taken Sapphire quite some effort and a lot of engineering resources, but the company has finally finished its first CPU cooler and at least for now, it’s a unique product in the market. The Vapor-X name gives it all away, as this is a vapor chamber CPU cooler.

If you look carefully at the pictures, you’ll notice that the base of the cooler is rather thick, well, this is the vapor chamber. The small piece of metal protruding out the side is where the liquid for the vapor chamber was injected, but sadly it can’t be done differently with current manufacturing processes.

Four heatpipes draws the heat away from the vapour chamber and into a rather large heatsinik with a 120mm fan on each side. It’s a bit of a beast of a cooler, although it’s actually quite a bit smaller than some other “extreme” CPU coolers we’ve seen.

Kitguru says: It’s not quite ready for prime time yet, but when it is, it’ll come with mounting brackets for all current CPU sockets.
