The upcoming Intel Core i7-13700T is on par with the Core i5-12600K in early benchmark

Benchmark leaks for Intel's upcoming 13th Gen Core processors have been dropping frequently in recent weeks. We have a good idea of what to expect from unlocked K-series chips, and now we have our first look at a low-TDP ‘T' series CPU. In one early benchmark, the Core i7-13700T seemed to match the Core i5-12600K in a more efficient package.

The Geekbench entry found by Benchleaks confirms the Core i7-13700T will have 16 cores, 24 threads, a base clock of 1.4GHz and 4.8GHz boost speeds. This processor was tested in an HP desktop system with 32GB of DDR4-3200 memory. In the single-core test, the processor earned 1,939 points, and in the multi-core test, it scored 11,564 points.

If we had to compare it with Intel's current line-up, it looks to be slightly faster than the Core i5-12600K in the single-core test and on par in multi-core performance. Considering this is a 35W TDP processor, it can still pack quite the punch.

The Intel 13th Gen Core ‘T' processors should release simultaneously with the non-K and ‘F' chips. If past launches are anything to go by, these should come out in early 2023.

KitGuru says: Despite the relatively low power design, this processor does seem to pack a lot of performance. It'll be interesting to see how it stacks up against AMD's upcoming Ryzen 7000 series processors too.
