Intel Core Ultra 200S revisit: 3 months of updates

Performance and Testing: Games

Far Cry 6

In Far Cry 6 we see massive improvements for Intel Core Ultra 200S. For example Core Ultra 5 245K jumps from an average of 99fps to 145fps and the 1% low from 57fps to 104fps. This is huge but what we really see here is just how poorly Core Ultra 200S performed at launch. With all the fixes in place Core Ultra 200S performs much better but still lags behind 14th Gen Raptor Lake and AMD Zen 5.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

In Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora we see Core Ultra 200S jumps up mainly in 1% low while average fps is barely changed. By contrast Intel 14th Gen Raptor Lake jumps forward in both areas and is now pretty much neck-and-neck with Core Ultra 200S. AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D is top of the chart by a clear margin.

Assassin's Creed: MIrage

Assassin's Creed: MIrage only shows small improvements for Core Ultra 200S. The Core Ultra 7 265K is now in a dead heat with Core i5-14600K while Core Ultra 9 285K is beaten by Core i9-14900K. Top of the chart, as expected, is AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D.

Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 is probably the best case scenario for Core Ultra 200S as the updates yield huge benefits. We see all three CPUs leap forward to such an extent that they beat 14th Gen Raptor Lake and also take the fight to AMD Ryzen 9 9950X. Clear away at the top of the chart we see the Ryzen 7 9800X3D.

Total War Pharaoh

Our fifth and final game is Total War Pharaoh. We see improvements for both Core Ultra 200s and for 14th Gen Raptor Lake, however this looks like a case of rising tides that lift all boats. Raptor Lake beats Arrow Lake and AMD beats Intel.
