In our opinion Intel Core Ultra 200S is now ready for review and we shall be working though Core Ultra 9 285K, Core Ultra 7 265K and Core Ultra 5 245K in the very near future. A number of comments under our new video suggest this Intel platform is dead and irrelevant while other comments suggest that Intel's biggest issue is pricing. We shall address those points in our reviews but there is no doubt in our mind that Intel is in a weak position to try and charge a premium for Core Ultra 9 285K over both Ryzen 9 9950X and Ryzen 7 9800X3D.
Once we have finished the CPU reviews we can move on to motherboard reviews and will – finally – be able to tell you what we think about Z890 motherboards.
We have heard from Intel about the legion changes they have made to the software that supports their Core Ultra 200S platform and we have documented the changes we have seen. There is, however, one final mystery to which we have no answer. We simply do not know how Intel thought these processors and chipsets were ready to be launched and were apparently shocked by the conclusions of every hardware reviewer on the planet. That may sound like hyperbole but we cannot think of a single favourable launch review for this hardware, yet Intel seemed entirely unprepared for the bad news.
KitGuru Says: We have benchmarked and we have re-benchmarked, and very soon it will be time for reviews.
