AMD may release a non-XT RX 6600 after all

Rumours surrounding the Radeon RX 6600 have existed for quite a while, but AMD has yet to announce it. While there was some doubt that such a SKU exists, a new leak showcasing a Gigabyte Eagle RX 6600 suggests it is indeed coming.

Through sources, VideoCardz was able to obtain renders of the upcoming Gigabyte Radeon RX 6600 Eagle card. Although similar to the RX 6600 XT Eagle, there are a few differences worth noting. For example, the PCB layout and the heatsink look different, and the card seems smaller, but aesthetically it's basically the same. Moreover, the renders also show the card will be powered by a single 8-pin power connector.

Moving to the specifications, this model is said to feature 8GB of GDDR6 memory, although there are rumours suggesting we may also see 6GB or 4GB models too, similar to the RX 470/480/570/580 cards, which launched with multiple memory configurations. The card is expected to be powered by the Navi 23 XL GPU with 1,792 CUDA stream processors enabled.

Targeted at the 1080p gaming market, the Radeon RX 6600 is rumoured to release between late September and late October.

KitGuru says: An entry-level RX 6600 appears to be on the way, although we'll need to await confirmation from AMD to know for sure.
