Nvidia RTX 3050 desktop graphics cards reportedly coming in Q2 2022

We've been hearing that Nvidia has new RTX 30 series GPUs planned for early 2022 for quite some time. To date, the RTX 3060 remains the entry point to the RTX 30 series on desktop, with the RTX 3050 and RTX 3050 Ti only releasing for laptops. That could change soon though, as sources claim we'll see a desktop RTX 3050 in the first half of next year, and it should be faster than the GTX 1660 Super.

As reported by VideoCardz, the RTX 3050 is referred to as PG190 SKU 70 and will be powered by the GA106-150 GPU, possibly with 3072 CUDA cores. The memory subsystem will reportedly feature 8GB of GDDR6 memory, most likely on a 128-bit memory bus.

The Nvidia RTX 3050 is said to be faster than the GTX 1660 Super but slower than the RTX 2060 12GB card. Based on these claims, this card should rival the likes of the AMD's upcoming RX 6500 XT and Intel's upcoming Arc Alchemist 128EU GPU.

The RTX 3050 may not be the only new desktop GPU from Nvidia in 2022, as previous rumours have also suggested we'll see refreshes of the RTX 3070 Ti and RTX 3080 with more memory, as well as an RTX 3090 Ti

KitGuru says: It looks like GPU makers are finally giving the entry-level market some much needed attention. This is all rumour for now though, so take this information with a grain of salt.
