AMD FX8350 BE / Gigabyte HD7970 / ASUS Sabertooth 990FX R2 Review

CINEBENCH R11.5 64 Bit is a real-world cross platform test suite that evaluates your computer’s performance capabilities. CINEBENCH is based on MAXON’s award-winning animation software CINEMA 4D, which is used extensively by studios and production houses worldwide for 3D content creation. MAXON software has been used in blockbuster movies such as Spider-Man, Star Wars, The Chronicles of Narnia and many more.

CINEBENCH is the perfect tool to compare CPU and graphics performance across various systems and platforms (Windows and Mac OS X). And best of all: It’s completely free.

There is no doubt the FX 8350 is faster than the FX 8150, although we would expect it to be, given the clock speed advantage. That said, when both processors are clocked to 4.6ghz, the FX 8350 scores 7.56 points against the FX8150’s  7.32 points. Not a massive difference, but clearly the architectural changes help boost performance.

If you own a Core i7 2600k from the previous Intel generation, you will be happy with these scores. The 2600k 4 core HT enabled chip outperforms the FX8350 by a noticeable margin at the same clock speeds (9.05 v 7.56 points at 4.6ghz).
