AMD R7 Series 240GB SSD Review

AS SSD is a great free tool designed just for benching Solid State Drives. It performs an array of sequential read and write tests, as well as random read and write tests with sequential access times over a portion of the drive. AS SSD includes a sub suite of benchmarks with various file pattern algorithms but this is difficult in trying to judge accurate performance figures.

AS SSD deals exclusively with incompressible data. We already know how good the Barefoot 3 controller is with this from previous reviews- but the AMD R7 Series 240GB scores very close to the top of our chart. The final score of 1,180 points is actually one of the best we have achieved to date.

  1. still, 230-250ish euro for a 500ish gb storage… I would rather wait a few years until the price is the same as HDDs are now or its not worth it. since they will only contain VSTi Samples. I would go for the 250 gb version if it weren’t for the fact that its 15 gb too small :/
