ADATA XPG SX930 240GB SSD Review

The ADATA XPG SX930 is a decent drive that is capable of delivering competitive read and write speeds. It is not the fastest SSD around but the JMicron JMF670H controller does its job.

ADATA does make use of higher binned MLC NAND so long-term endurance should not be an issue and if anything does go wrong, ADATA has whacked on that five-year warranty, which is always reassuring to see.

As our tests show, IOPS performance was average but sequential read and write speeds remained strong with our peak results showing 560 MB/s and 462 MB/s respectively.

Now we get down to the price, this is a ‘value' drive, which is reflected in its performance. You can find the ADATA XPG SX930 240GB for £80 on Amazon UK. Unfortunately, you will find a lot of tough competition around the same price, with Samsung's 850 Evo 240GB sitting at the £75 mark for instance.

ADATA also offers 120GB and 480GB variants of the SX930 depending on your storage requirements.

Pros:

  • Strong read/write performance.
  • Five-year warranty.

Cons:

  • SSD market is extremely saturated.

KitGuru Says: If you are in the market for a new SSD, then the ADATA XPG SX930 is worth considering, particularly if you can find it cheaper than the competition.
