Sony releases ode to PlayStation video

If you've been a gamer at any point in the last twenty years, chances are you've found yourself sat infront of a TV, with a dualshock controller in your hand, playing one of the PlayStation's classic titles. Whether it's Tekken, Resident Evil, God of War, Final Fantasy, Smackdown, Gran Turismo or [insert the one you'll shout at me for forgetting]. To celebrate this long history of PlayStation gaming, Sony has released a new video that shows the gamers transitioning with the systems, the games and the world around them,  in a new promotional video. This was posted up today by PlayStation access and along with the video itself, there's some great insights in the comments from the uploader. Each era was filmed in one take, with actors ducking out of shot. You also might notice that the PlayStation consoles evolve during the eras as well, from larger to smaller versions, with button locations changing with the upgrades. See if you can spot the change from PlayStation One to the PSONE and the switch from PS2's original version, to its slimmer descendent.

KitGuru Says: The only “problem” with the video, is that the guys seem a little old to be going to their parent's house just to play a console. You guys should probably move out and buy your own one don't you think?

With rumours claiming that Sony is looking to once again re-enter the market, it is time we looked back to the portable PlayStation’s past successes, failures, and lessons (hopefully) learned for what (and what not) to do.
