ArenaNet is marking the 21st anniversary of the Guild Wars franchise by bringing Guild Wars Reforged to mobile devices this summer. The game will feature full cross-play and cross-progression between PC, Steam Deck, and mobile, ensuring that Tyria is accessible regardless of where you choose to play.
The mobile version has been built from the ground up with a customisable user interface and a control scheme tailored for touchscreens, while still maintaining the skill-based combat that defined the original experience over two decades ago.
The mobile launch also introduces a unique free-to-play model that lets newcomers experience the entire Guild Wars: Prophecies campaign at no initial cost, supported by ads. For those looking to dive deeper or remove the advertising, the paid versions of the Factions and Nightfall campaigns will be available as standalone add-ons for $6.99 each. The Eye of the North expansion and the Bonus Mission Pack are also joining the mobile store at $9.99 and $5.99, respectively. Existing players who already own the game on PC can log in with their ArenaNet accounts to enjoy their characters on mobile without ads, additional costs, or gameplay restrictions.
Technical testing is set to begin soon in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and the Philippines, with a global launch planned for later this summer. While mobile users will use a mobile ID system, ArenaNet provides the option to convert these into standard accounts to preserve progress across different hardware. It is important to note that mobile IDs cannot be linked to Steam accounts during this initial phase.
