Ark: Survival Evolved now has the biggest dinosaur in gaming

Ark: Survival Evolved is a game all about monstrous dinosaurs stomping around a mixed-tech island with a few humans running between their feet, but it turns out they were all just an appetiser. In its latest update, developer Wildcard has added the Titanosaurus, the largest dinosaur in Ark and very much the biggest dinosaur in gaming history.

The T-Rex and even some of the mighty sauropods have nothing on this fictional beast. It towers above structures, other dinosaurs and even the forests themselves. Fortunately then, to make sure that the game isn't all about walking in the shadow of one person riding their own pet eclipse machine, developers have added the new Redwood Biome, so you can take to the trees to avoid being stomped to death.

That means new craftable building materials like rope ladders and platforms.

The Titanosaur is so big though, you'll be defending your treehouse from a veritable army of enemies. It sports enough mounting points to have turrets, cannons, harpoons and various other armaments on its broad back and it can do some serious damage of its own.

The only downside is you can't keep it forever. Wildcard said it's too powerful, according to Kotaku.

As you might expect from Ark, the new dinosaur and Redwood biome look fantastic – that goes for the newly added ruins too, which gives players something new to explore. Other additions include gas masks, bola ammo and notifications for tripwires so you know when someone is sneaking into your camp.
