AMD has outlined its own PC requirements for Starfield targeting 1080p, 1440p and 4K

AMD has been putting Starfield in headlines in recent weeks, after being announced as the game's ‘official PC partner' and unveiling a new game bundle, giving free copies of Bethesda's new RPG to those buying Ryzen processors and Radeon graphics cards. Now, AMD's recommended PC system requirements for the game have arrived.

In an update to AMD's Starfield page, the hardware maker has shared its PC spec requirements for playing Starfield at 1080p, 1440p and 4K. As you might expect, these are AMD's recommendations, so the focus is purely on AMD hardware here. According to AMD, to run Starfield at 1080p, players will want to be equipped with a Ryzen 5 7600 processor and a Radeon RX 7600 graphics card (or better). For 1440p, AMD recommends a Ryzen 7 7700X and an RX 6800 at least. Finally for 4K gaming, AMD recommends a Ryzen 7 7800X3D and an RX 7900 graphics card.

These are a little different to the minimum and recommended system requirements that Bethesda has added to Starfield's Steam page. Here are Bethesda's PC system requirements, including Intel and Nvidia hardware options:

Minimum:

  • OS: Windows 10 version 22H2 (10.0.19045)
  • Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 2600X, Intel Core i7-6800K
  • Memory: 16 GB RAM
  • Graphics: AMD Radeon RX 5700, NVIDIA GeForce 1070 Ti
  • DirectX: Version 12
  • Storage: 125 GB available space
  • Additional Notes: SSD Required

Recommended:

  • OS: Windows 10/11 with updates
  • Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 3600X, Intel i5-10600K
  • Memory: 16 GB RAM
  • Graphics: AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080
  • DirectX: Version 12
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection
  • Storage: 125 GB available space
  • Additional Notes: SSD Required

Typically, PC system requirements for AAA games aren't finalised until a few weeks before launch. With Starfield set to release on September 6th, we may expect some more detailed, hardware vendor-agnostic, PC system requirements from Bethesda closer to that date. Bethesda's current PC system requirements don't make any mention of target resolution or frame rate.
