NetEase files trademark for new MMO ‘ECC: Redline’

NetEase already has a long list of major multiplayer titles in development, from Marvel Rivals to Once Human, but it appears the publisher has yet another MMO on the way. New trademark filings suggest the company is preparing to announce a project titled ECC: Redline.

NetEase recently filed trademarks for ECC: Redline in both the US and EU. Most game‑related trademarks don’t reveal much, but the US listing specifically categorises ECC: Redline as a “massively multiplayer” title. The EU filing also references virtual reality, although that may simply be broad trademark language rather than an indication that the game will be VR‑focused.

Insider Gaming has noted that NetEase has been hiring for roles involving quests, events and narrative storylines, which all common components of an MMO game. Combined with the trademark classification, it strongly suggests ECC: Redline will be another large‑scale online project for the publisher.

Considering the trademark has only just been filed, it may be several months before NetEase formally announces the game. The company already has multiple major releases lined up, so ECC: Redline could be positioned as part of its next wave of multiplayer titles.
