Remedy gives update on Control 2, Max Payne Remake and other projects

Remedy Entertainment has delivered its latest quarterly update, bringing updates on several in-development projects. At this point, the sequel to Control is nearing the finish line, with marketing set to ramp up over the Summer ahead of launch.

Control: Resonant is the sequel to Remedy's 2019 action game. This time around, we play as Dylan, brother of Jesse, the protagonist of the first game. Dylan has a whole new set of supernatural abilities and weapons to make use of. The game is expected to launch later this year for PC and consoles and according to Remedy, the studio is on track to hit its planned date, with marketing activity set to ramp up over the next quarter.

While Control: Resonant is the next major title from Remedy, the studio does have multiple other projects in the works right now. Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake is still in full production, with Rockstar Games providing input as the new owners of the IP.

On top of that, a mysterious new project has entered the proof-of-concept stage of development. It is unclear if this will be a multiplayer project or a single-player project. We also don't know if this will be a new IP, or if it will be a new project set in the Control or Alan Wake universes.

KitGuru Says: As much as I loved the original Control, there is something about this sequel that just isn't grabbing me. Hopefully that will change in the coming months as more is revealed.
