At this point, Watch Dogs isn't exactly at the top of Ubisoft's priority list, but there are still signs of life for the IP. As it turns out, we'll apparently soon be getting a Watch Dogs Legion Director's Cut.
According to Inisder Gaming, Ubisoft is currently working on a Director's Cut version of Watch Dogs Legion. The game first launched back in 2020, but while the previous two games centred around a main character, Legion took things in a different direction and allowed players to play as any NPC in the world. The new version of Legion is said to be a ‘remake' of sorts, but specific changes are still unconfirmed.
Ubisoft just got done with a major restructuring effort, with the company splitting up into different ‘creative houses', with each one tasked with taking care of valuable IP. Series like Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon and The Division were all mentioned as core focuses for Ubisoft moving forward, but the company has shown little interest in pushing Watch Dogs.
Personally, I really enjoyed the first two Watch Dogs games, especially Watch Dogs 2, but I couldn't quite get into Legion. It would appear that a lot of other people felt the same way, so it will be interesting to see what changes come in a potential Director's Cut edition.
