Back in 2022, Funcom officially announced Dune Awakening – an ambitious survival MMO set in the world created by Frank Herbert. Launching on PC last Summer, the game was promised to be coming to consoles later down the line. Finally, all those with a PS5 or Series X/S will soon be able to step onto the spicy sands of Arrakis, with Dune Awakening officially coming to the platforms in September alongside a massive update for PC.
Officially announced during the recent PlayStation State of Play, Dune Awakening is finally set to come to consoles in a few months’ time, arriving on the 22nd of September for current-gen Xbox and PlayStation systems.
Since its arrival on PC, Dune Awakening has seen a ton of changes and additions, with improvements coming to its systems, servers and even an overhaul of its PvP / PvE elements.
That said, the game is set to get its biggest update yet alongside its console release, adding a brand new single-player mode alongside the final chapter of their ‘Book One’ story. Full details on the update can be found HERE.
Featuring “optimised UI and controls” two graphics options (Performance and Quality) and a plethora of major sweeping changes, September’s update and console release is said to be “a milestone for the new and improved Dune: Awakening.”
It will be interesting to see what both new and returning players think of the game when it comes to consoles in a few months.
