Halo Studios to offer “deep dive” into new game later this month

The Halo franchise is in a bit of a limbo right now, with fans of the classic franchise patiently waiting to see what the team have been working on ever since announcing the rebranding of 343 Industries to Halo Studios. Following some teasers earlier this Summer, the team have confirmed that they will host a “deep dive” into the future of Halo at the upcoming Halo World Championships.

Taking to their blog to make the announcement, the team at Halo Studios reaffirmed that fans should look forward to the upcoming HaloWC which is set to take place on the 24th of October, writing:

“Back in June we let the community know that we’d be continuing the conversation from last year’s HaloWC and the ‘A New Dawn’ video and sharing more about what we’ve been working on. Like last year we’ll be on the Main Stage to talk about it but this year we’ve also got a ‘deep dive’ panel planned for the Community Stage that you won’t want to miss.”

Halo Studios Deep dive

For the uninitiated, last year’s HaloWC is where Microsoft announced that 343 Industries was no more, being reborn as Halo Studios. In addition, the team confirmed at the time that they would be switching to Unreal Engine 5 for future game development, while showing off some brief visual teasers for what fans can expect the game to look like.

As mentioned, Halo is in a bit of a state of limbo, with Infinite failing to become the 10-year live-service juggernaut that they were hoping it would become. With the team seemingly going back to the drawing board in many ways, it will be interesting to see what Halo Studios is planning to show off – and how far in-development it is.
