Overview

Gaming performance is impressive from the Zephyrus G. I wasn't expecting frame rates to come in as high as you'd get from a desktop 1660 Ti with an overclocked processor, but even so we are looking at figures at or around the 60FPS mark when playing these demanding AAA titles.

To get the most from the 120Hz display, however, you'd be more likely to play esports games like CS:GO, Rocket League or Apex Legends. I was even playing Doom (2016) with this machine, in preparation for the release of Doom Eternal later this year, and using ‘Ultra' settings my framerate came in around 80-90FPS. So clearly, the gaming performance is there and that is a solid tick in the box for the Zephyrus G.
