Intel launches 11th Gen Core ‘Tiger Lake H’ processors for laptops

Today is a big day for laptops – not only has Nvidia just launched the RTX 3050 and RTX 3050 Ti for laptops, but Intel is also launching new 11th Gen Core H-series mobile processors. The new Intel 11th Gen mobile line-up includes the flagship Core i9-11980HK, which Intel claims to be the ‘world's best gaming laptop processor'.

The new platform includes 20 PCIe 4.0 lanes with Intel Rapid Storage Technology and up to 44 total PCIe lanes including 24 PCIe 3.0 lanes from a dedicated controller hub. Other features include memory support up to DDR4-3200, Thunderbolt 4 with transfer speeds up to 40Gbps, Discrete Intel Killer WiFi 6E and dual embedded Display Port.

These 11th Gen Core H-series laptop processors are based on 10nm SuperFin process technology and feature up to 8 cores and 16 threads with boost speeds of up to 5GHz. For gaming, these CPUs support resizable BAR, enabling faster access to GDDR6 memory on the GPU, enabling better performance and lower latency.

Several laptop makers have already begun announcing new models with Intel's new CPUs inside, including the likes of Razer, MSI, ASUS, Dell and Gigabyte.
