As the UK’s biggest LAN event ever prepares to kick off at the International Centre in Telford over this Bank Holiday weekend, major sponsor Medion is launching a huge competition to win a £1,000 Pro-Gamer Laptop. Entry is simple and one lucky reader will be enjoying the mobile gaming goodness in September. Interested? Read on!
Multiplay runs the Insomnia (i-Series) gaming events, 3 times a year, at the massive Telford International Centre. This August Bank Holiday will see the start of Multiplay i43, the biggest LAN this country has ever seen, as thousands and thousands of gamers gravitate to the country’s most central location, to fight it out for tens of thousands of pounds in cash prize money.
So here’s a little background on who is Medion, what is the prize, how can you enter and when will you know if you are the new, proud owner of this fragging piece of hardware?
Technically German, Medion is now owned by PC manufacturing giant Lenovo – the people who bought IBM out of the market. The last time anyone counted, Medion’s revenues were around £1.5 billion. Yep. Billion. Shockingly large and we like it.
Gimme The Prize
With a GeForce GTX 460M and Intel Core i5 processor, coupled with a 15.6″ screen – the Medion Erazer x6813 will blast past any game you care to lay in front of it. While not 100% true for this unit, you can click on this link and see what kind of scores the chaps at Notebook Check managed (scroll down for game benchmarks and be prepared to smile). In the shops, you could pay up to £1,000 for this beastie… or you can enter the competition at i43 for a chance to pick it up free of charge.
We spoke with the wonderful Kirsty and she said, “All you need to do is come down to the festival, take a picture of yourself on the Medion stand and upload it to the Medion UK Facebook page. Don’t forget to ‘Like’ the page whilst you are there. The most creative photograph wins, so don’t hold back! The competition will start on Friday 26th August and closes on 5th September. Keep an eye on the Medion UK Facebook page where the winner will be announced” Thanks Kirsty!
Shortly after the competition ends on 5th September, the winner will be announced and joy will follow.
KitGuru says: Even if you’re not one of the 2,500 hardcore gamers paying ~£90 to come and compete for big money prizes over the Bank Holiday weekend, you can still come along and see all the action for a fiver. Yep, just a single £5 note and you’re in for the day. Oh yes, and the 2 runners-up will also get a set of the latest Medion 5.1 USB headsets. Check Medion’s UK Facebook page for announcements.
