Pokémon TCG Pocket has already surpassed 60 million downloads

Released a little over a month ago, Pokémon TCG Pocket is a free-to-play take on the popular card game, with an emphasis on opening packs and unlocking new and aesthetically-pleasing cards. As with all things Pokémon, the game has proven to be an immediate hit – already surpassing 60 million total downloads.

In a press release detailing the game’s upcoming Mythical Island Expansion (set to arrive on the 17th of December), The Pokémon Company also offered an update on the game’s current performance, revealing that:

“The popular Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket app has exceeded 60 million downloads on iOS and Android devices since its global launch on Oct. 30, 2024.”

For some context, TCG Pocket hit its first major milestone just under one week into its launch, surpassing 10 million total downloads. Given how the game has added an additional 50 million players in the month since, it seems momentum for the game is only increasing.

That said, despite reaching 10 million downloads faster than Pokémon GO, TCG Pocket has a long way to go to reach anywhere near GO’s more than 600 million downloads.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
