Steam Next Fest is live – here are ten games to look out for

Steam Next Fest has returned for another round. The week-long event gives gamers a preview of thousands of exciting upcoming games through freely downloadable demos and livestreams.

If you open up Steam right now, you'll see the Next Fest banner featured prominently at the top of the store. Running until the 21st of October, hundreds of developers are using this opportunity to get their upcoming games in front of as many players as possible, with most titles including a free demo version for you to try.

Some highlights with demos available include:

  • TMNT: Splintered Fate
  • Delta Force
  • Valkyrie Squad: Siege Breakers
  • 7 Nights Keeper
  • Deeplanders
  • Jotunnslayer: Hordes of Hel
  • The Last Winter Knight
  • Cards Guns Zombies
  • Deadzone Rogue
  • Tower Factory

As Steam now shows recommendations based on play history and your own library of games, you are likely to find other hidden gems outside of what I've put on this list.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
