Stellar Blade x NieR Automata officially announced

Ahead of its release earlier this year, the PlayStation 5 exclusive Stellar Blade drew a great deal of comparison to 2017’s spectacle fighter NieR: Automata – with the latter’s creator himself stating that the former is “much better than NieR: Automata”. In a somewhat surprising move, the two properties are set to crossover when Stellar Blade gets its own NieR collaboration later this year.

Announced during the most recent State of Play, Sony officially unveiled the next major update coming to Stellar Blade, saying:

“Worlds collide in the upcoming Stellar Blade x Nier: Automata collaboration, coming later this year.”

Just as exciting is the introduction of a new photo mode which appears to be rather comprehensive for those with an eye for photography.

Last but not least, the full official soundtrack for Stellar Blade has now been added to music streaming services, letting you listen to all 180+ tracks whenever you please.

Given the fact that there’s been no proper new NieR game since the aforementioned Automata in 2017, fans of the series will likely take anything they can get at this point.

That said, this collab does make a great deal of sense, and so it will be interesting to see how far the crossover goes.
