Marvel Rivals trailer confirms December launch date

Marvel Rivals has gone through plenty of playtests in recent months and so far, the game appears to be in a pretty well-polished state. However, we are going to have to wait a few more months for the full launch, which has now been set for December.

Marvel Rivals, the new shooter starring a huge roster of Marvel characters, each with their own unique abilities and split between three main categories – Damage, Tank and Support. It takes inspiration from games like Overwatch, with a keen focus on overall team-play and hero synergies.

During last night's Gamescom Opening Night Live stream, the release date trailer for the game finally dropped, revealing a December 6th launch. The new trailer also confirms two fan-favourite characters for the game – Captain America and The Winter Soldier.

Marvel Rivals will launch as a free-to-play game, with monetisation through skins and possibly an additional battle pass model. All characters on the roster will be free on day-one. If you want to try the game out before release, there will be more beta tests running over the next couple of months.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
