Xbox reveals its Gamescom 2024 line-up

Microsoft has been present at quite a few events over the course of 2024 so far, and it seems they have no plans of slowing down, with the console maker confirming that Xbox will be present at the upcoming Gamescom convention. Set to go live on the 21st of August, Xbox’s plans for the event have now been detailed.

Taking to the Xbox Wire blog, Maxi Graeff – the Gaming Marketing Lead for the DACH regions – said “Following this year’s jam-packed Xbox Games Showcase, we’re excited to return to gamescom and connect with fans in Cologne, Germany from August 21-25 to show off even more of what Xbox players have in store.”

Microsoft will be kicking off Gamescom with a Bethesda showcase on Wednesday the 21st at 1PM BST – quickly followed by a general Xbox event at 2pm BST (featuring the likes of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl; Atomfall; Age of Mythology and more.)

The company will continue to show off more games the following day, also at 2PM BST, including Star Wars Outlaws; World of Warcraft: The War Within; Towerborne “plus others.”

Finally, on Friday the 23rd of August, Xbox will host its final set of showcases, with another Bethesda ‘MainStream’ at 1PM BST followed by the last Xbox Showcase at 2PM, featuring Avowed; Ara: History Untold, and more.

Full details on all of Xbox’s Gamescom events can be found HERE, including the console maker’s in-person plans. With 3 days and 5 streams, it will be interesting to see just how much Microsoft is planning to show off.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
