Gears Collection reportedly being tested for release

This time last year, we reported that a Gears of War Collection was in the works, with little else known about the project at the time. Though there has yet to be any official word on its existence, the collection is reportedly nearing completion, with internal testing currently underway.

As reported by Middleagegameguy via the Xbox Infinite podcast, the long-rumoured Gears of War Collection is almost ready, with them saying “The Gears Collection is being internally tested as we speak.”

Explaining what this means, they continued, “the build is finished, they’re playing it now – the employees, executive, game testers are playing a build of it as we speak.”

Of course, as it has yet to be officially announced, we do not have concrete details on exactly how the collection will function. That said, it seems to be a rather ambitious affair, with comparisons being made to Microsoft’s eventually-well-received Halo Master Chief Collection.

Like those remasters, hopefully players will be able to seamlessly switch between the classic and remastered versions.
