LG will showcase new QHD/480Hz OLED monitor at CES 2024

LG has announced that it has developed the world's first 27-inch 480Hz QHD OLED panel. LG has already shared some core specifications of these panels but promises to share more at CES next week.

LG's latest gaming OLED display delivers an unprecedented 480Hz refresh rate, with 0.03ms response time and 2560×1440 resolution, so obtaining the frame rates needed to truly benefit from this refresh rate won't be as difficult as with a 4K display.

Like the other LG gaming OLED panels, this one will use the company's “META Technology,” which comprises a micro lens array (MLA) to maximise organic light emission from the OLED panel and minimise external light reflections during gloomy scenarios. Moreover, LG's OLEDs were also designed with safe use in mind. Producing about half of the blue light compared to premium LCDs.

The new LG 27-inch 480Hz QHD gaming OLED display will be available in H1 2024. Besides this, LG will showcase many other gaming OLED displays at CES 2024.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
