You can now stream games to Discord from an Xbox console

Discord has been hard at work on its console integration over the last year. Xbox gamers have had access to Discord voice chat for a while and now, users will even be able to stream games in Discord channels right from their console.

If you are using an Xbox Series X/S or an Xbox One, the latest update to Discord on Xbox allows users to stream the game their playing directly in Discord servers or private DM calls. There will be a period of public testing to start with, available to all Xbox Insider members. In a few months time, we should see this feature roll out to all users.

You'll be bound to the same resolution and framerate limitations that you see on desktop. Free Discord users can stream at 720p/30FPS while Discord Nitro subscribers can get access to 1080p and 60FPS streaming.

For now, Discord game streaming on console is only available on Xbox but we should see similar integration on PlayStation a little later down the line.

KitGuru Says: Discord integration on consoles continues to improve. At some point, I feel like Discord could replace the first-party community and chat services available on each of the main consoles.
