MSI introduces new RTX 40 Slim graphics cards

MSI is revamping its RTX 40 series graphics card portfolio with the launch of the Gaming Slim line. The new cards take inspiration from the Suprim and Gaming X designs. There will be Slim versions of the RTX 4070 Ti, RTX 4070, and RTX 4060 Ti.

With two colour variations and factory-overclocked and non-overclocked versions available, the total portfolio should include more than 20 models. It is unclear if we will see Gaming Slim versions of the RTX 4090, RTX 4080 or the RTX 4060.

These new Gaming Slim graphics cards will feature a triple-fan cooling system (TRI FROZR 3), which includes Torx Fan 5.0 fans, a copper baseplate, a metal backplate, and up to 8 heat pipes. Available in both black and white, the card has strong lines, clean edges, customisable RGB lighting, and a ventilation hole in the backplate. The RTX 4070 Ti has a 2.5-slot configuration and is smaller and lighter than the Gaming X Trio equivalent. The RTX 4070 and RTX 4060 Ti Gaming Slim cards instead use a 2-slot design.

It's worth noting that the Gaming Slim series has lower clock speeds than the Gaming Trio models. However, this difference is negligible, standing at only 15MHz less for the RTX 4070 Ti. All Gaming Slim cards seem to include a branded VGA support bracket and power adapters. Some retailers have already listed Gaming Slim cards, priced about the same as their Gaming X Trio counterparts.
