Counter-Strike 2 players are being banned for enabling Radeon Anti-Lag+

If you are playing Counter-Strike 2 and use an AMD graphics card, be sure to disable Anti-Lag+, as Valve has now confirmed that the feature is triggering VAC bans.

In a warning published this week on the Counter-Strike Twitter account, Valve said: “If you are an AMD customer and play CS2, DO NOT ENABLE ANTI-LAG/+; any tampering with CS code will result in a VAC ban. Once AMD ships an update we can do the work of identifying affected users and reversing their ban.”

AMD has also responded with its own statement, saying: “AMD has been alerted to an issue in which gamers playing Counter-Strike 2 with AMD Anti-Lag+ technology enabled on Radeon graphics are inadvertently triggering a VAC ban. AMD is engaged with Valve to address the issue and will provide more details as soon as they become available”.

So if you are playing CS2 at the moment, and you use Radeon graphics, be sure to disable Anti-Lag+. Hopefully, by this time next week, we'll have an update and perhaps even a hotfix.

KitGuru Says: Anti-Lag+ is AMD's equivalent to Nvidia Reflex, reducing system latency to provide an edge in competitive games. Unfortunately for now, due to the way Anti-Lag+ functions, Radeon users will have to play without the feature for the time being. Anyone who already suffered a ban due to this should be able to have it reversed soon.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
