Next mainline Monster Hunter reportedly coming to the Switch 2

In the past half a decade or so, the Monster Hunter franchise ballooned into becoming one of Capcom’s biggest, thanks primarily to the incredible success of Monster Hunter World – the first game in a long time to target home consoles. As such, the title never came to the Switch, with it instead getting the less-technically-impressive Monster Hunter Rise. With the next-gen Switch successor said to be significantly more powerful, Nintendo’s upcoming system will reportedly support Capcom’s next mainline Monster Hunter title.

In a post published to FamiBoards discussing the next-generation Switch successor, industry insider and owner of the publication Universo Nintendo ‘Necrolipe’ claimed that the “Next mainline Monster Hunter will be released on Switch NG [next-gen] yes.”

As mentioned, the current Switch never saw a port for Monster Hunter World developed, with the handheld instead getting its own game in the form of Monster hunter Rise. That said, Rise is deemed to be a mainline title, with the game eventually making its way to other current-gen systems.

Even so, there was a definite disparity between Rise and World in terms of graphics and scope with the former clearly being designed first-and-foremost for Nintendo's lesser-powered Switch.

As such, it is exciting to hear that whenever the next Monster Hunter game is officially announced (possibly early next year), it will be arriving on all current-gen consoles, allowing the team at Capcom to put all their efforts into this singular next-generation experience. Hopefully this does indeed end up being the case.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
