Xbox officially announces its Gamescom line-up and plans

Earlier this week we reported on a leak shared by an industry insider detailing some of Microsoft’s plans for their upcoming Gamescom Showcase. Set to go live later this month, Microsoft have now officially announced exactly what fans can expect to see at the upcoming event.

Taking to their XboxWire blog to make the announcement, Maxi Graeff – the Integrated Marketing Lead at Xbox – said “It’s the fans that make Gamescom the biggest gaming event in the world, and we’re thrilled to greet you this year with the largest booth we’ve ever had at Gamescom” adding that “If you can’t make it to Cologne this year, don’t worry. We’ll bring the Xbox booth directly to you, with deep dives, gameplay and developer interviews live streamed across three days of the show.”

Going into the specifics, those attending the event in person will be able to enjoy more than 30 different titles across 150 gaming stations, with just some of the games featured including S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2; Payday 3; Jusant; ARMORED CORE VI: Fires of Rubicon; Party Animals; Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty; Under the Waves and Persona 5 Tactica.

For those who cannot travel to Cologne, Microsoft will be hosting a multi-day stream in which they will be “taking a deeper dive into some of the highly-anticipated games at Gamescom 2023, with gameplay, developer chats and community segments to give you a flavour of the show.”

Microsoft seems to be going all-out with this year’s Gamescom, giving all Xbox fans something to look forward to regardless of whether they are at the actual convention. It will be interesting to see what is announced/shown off.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
