Sony to reveal major 3rd party announcements ‘soon’, claims leaker

Microsoft will be hosting a game showcase in just a few short weeks, giving fans a look at what is in store for 2023 and beyond. On the flipside, we have learned little from PlayStation in the past few months – but this will soon change with an upcoming set of 3rd party partner announcements on their way.

As reported by industry insider ‘The Snitch’ (and shared by Insider Gaming), PlayStation is set to host a game showcase of some kind, with the leaker saying “A reliable source has dm me on Twitter to say that PlayStation is about to announce 3rd party stuff very soon.”

The Snitch did not elaborate further, but Sony has long been known for engaging in many 3rd-party partnerships, and so while it seems we will have to wait a bit longer to hear from the console manufacturer’s internal studios, we may soon get our first look at some of what Sony has planned for the upcoming year.

Right now, we have a few 3rd party games announced for release on PS5 in 2023 including Forspoken and Final Fantasy XVI. Beyond these however, the schedule is pretty open, and so it will be interesting to see what else Sony has in store.
