PlayStation State of Play coming this month, claims insider

Back in January we saw Microsoft go live with a developer direct, giving Xbox players some insight into a number of upcoming games – as well as the surprise announcement and immediate release of Hi-Fi Rush. PlayStation has been rather quiet so far in 2023, though this is set to change with a State of Play stream seemingly set for later this month.

Though no official announcement has been made, as part of the latest episode of Jeff Grubb’s podcast the industry insider claimed that “there’s gonna be a State of Play here pretty soon.”

Immediately following this however Grubb set expectations, saying “now don’t get your hopes up too high, because apparently it’s gonna be a pretty lacklus– it’s gonna be a pretty like low-key State of Play.”

At the time, Grubb stated that the showcase was expected to happen some time within the next month, though he later took to Twitter to offer a more precise window, saying “I see people keep saying March for the State of Play, but I think it's more likely to happen before the end of February.”

While some people may be disappointed by its state as a ‘low-key’ event, Grubb did claim that a full-fledged ‘PlayStation Showcase’ will follow at some point before E3 time, and so we will see a “1-2 punch” strategy by the console manufacturer beginning hopefully later this month.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
