MSI Spatinum SSDs spotted on EEC database, should launch soon

Back at CES 2021, MSI announced plans to enter the SSD market by showcasing a PCIe 4.0 M.2 SSD. Things have been quiet since then, but EEC listings suggest that MSI's first SSDs will be launching quite soon.

The EEC listing spotted by u/denzop shows that the company plans to release eight models of Spatium SSDs. The S280 seem to be the 2.5-inch SSD series, listed with 240GB, 256GB, 480GB, 512Gb, and 1TB. Then, there are the M.2 PCIe 3.0 Spatium M300 series, consisting of the M370 (256GB, 512GB, 1TB, 2TB), the M371 (1TB, 2TB), the M380 (256GB, 512GB, 1TB, 2TB), and the M381 (1TB, 2TB).

Lastly, there's the M480 M.2 PCIe 4.0, which we believe is the one showcased at CES 2021. MSI's PCIe 4 SSD will come in 500GB, 1TB and 2TB capacity options.

The M370 has already been spotted at CyberPowerPC by PCGamer. As per the listing, the M370 seems to be the entry-level PCIe 3.0 SSD, featuring a maximum read/write speed of 2400/1800MBps.

KitGuru says: In the last few years, MSI has expanded its DIY PC component portfolio massively. As it's now getting into SSDs, we wonder what market MSI will get into next – perhaps one day we'll also see MSI RAM.
