Valve is doubling the number of Steam Deck shipments

More than one year after pre-orders went live, many excited fans continue to wait for their Steam Decks to arrive. Fortunately, Valve has some good news on this front, announcing that they will begin to ship double the number of Steam Decks from this week onwards.

Making the announcement on Twitter, Valve said “Hello! Some great news on the production front. We just sent the last batch of Q2 emails, and we’ll start sending Q3 reservation emails on the 30th. Production has picked up, and after today we'll be shipping more than double the number of Steam Decks every week!”

Valve then clarified that “If you're expecting your email and haven't received it yet, give it some time to make its way through the internet. Or just go to https://store.steampowered.com/steamdeck (while logged in) to check your reservation status.”

It has been undoubtedly frustrating for those who pre-ordered the Steam Deck just minutes after others, needing to wait weeks or months more before getting their hands on it. As such, it is exciting to see Valve doubling the number of shipments. If nothing else, the longer you have to wait for the Steam Deck, the more stable the software will be – hopefully.
