Pedro Pascal has “absolutely no doubts” that fans will not be disappointed in TLOU adaptation

The Last of Us has managed to successfully create a franchise from just two games, both of which received universal critical praise (though not without its controversy from fan perspectives). Despite this, Pedro Pascal, star of the upcoming The Last of Us HBO show, believes that fans will not be disappointed with the adaptation.

In a recent interview with German Magazine Neelix (and reported by DualShockers), Pedro Pascal, who plays Joel in the upcoming The Last of Us TV show, was asked about his future projects, to which Pascal discussed HBO’s The Last of Us, saying:

“Shooting has already started and it’s so much fun and something completely new for me and a great opportunity to show my fans a different side to me.”

When asked about fan expectations and how the show will compare to the games, Padcal said “I think the adaptation is more than capable of competing with the game. I have absolutely no doubts that we will not disappoint fans and new viewers.”

The Last of Us, and especially its sequel, took some brave leaps when it came to storytelling – especially in the video game medium . The effects of these creative and story choices may have put some fans off of the franchise, but it has further invested others. As such, it will be interesting to see where the TV show stands when it releases – and whether Pedro Pascal’s confidence proves to be justified.
