The RTX 4090 may boost to over 2.5GHz

The rumoured specifications of the RTX 4090, RTX 4080 and RTX 4070 have received an update. Besides adding clock frequency details to the RTX 4090, there are other changes in the specifications, including GDDR6X memory on the RTX 4080. 

Prominent leaker kopite7kimi has recently posted an update to the rumoured specifications of the RTX 40 series. On top of what we know about the RTX 4090, the leaker claims the new card will come with the AD102-300-A1 GPU with a base clock of 2,235MHz and a boost clock of 2,520MHz and may peak at 2,750MHz. Overall, this looks like a considerable upgrade over the RTX 3090 clock frequencies.

The leaker has also updated their claims about the RTX 4080. The graphics card will reportedly feature the AD103-300-A1 GPU, and instead of 16GB of GDDR6 memory clocked at 18Gbps, it will feature 16GB of GDDR6x memory at 21Gbps. Despite the changes in the memory type, the memory bus width remains unchanged (256 bit). As for the RTX 4070, the specifications remain unchanged.

The first Nvidia RTX 40 series graphics cards (RTX 4090, 4080 and 4070) should release between early Q3 and late Q4. After that, we should get the RTX 4060 in early 2023.
